Vibor v2.7 (c) 2004-2006 Thomas Stockinger http://www.nop.at/vibor vibor@nop.at What is Vibor? -------------- "VIBOR" means "Vibrate-On-Ring". By default, the A920 and A925 can't vibrate and play a ringtone at the same time during an incoming call/SMS/MMS. Vibor makes it possible! You can still use different ringtones, select a ringtone per contact etc. In addition, the mobile vibrates on incoming calls and SMS/MMS/Email/Alarm with a selectable pattern. Alternatively, there's a vibrate-then-ring option on calls only: Vibor vibrates silently with the selected pattern and plays the ringtone afterwards. Contact-pictures and more! -------------------------- Vibor has more features: On incoming calls, a contact's picture (if available) is displayed in the upper half of the screen - much larger than the tiny icon which is normally shown. If there's no contact picture stored to the calling contact, or the caller's phone number is assigned to more than one contact, name and/or companyname of all those contacts are shown. If the caller's phone number is not assigned to any contact in your phonebook, the number's prefix is looked up in a list of country- and local-area-codes, and the matching name(s) are displayed. This list can be edited to your needs! Additionally, the caller's phone number will be shown on every call, if you like. Vibor on the A1000 ------------------ The A1000 doesn't have a real vibrating-device like the A92x built in, it uses its specially designed speakers instead. That means it's very difficult to vibrate and play music/audio independently at the same time with a satisfying result. Please use the trial-version to judge for yourself. Alert pattern "Line" normally gives the best result. On the A1000, Vibor has an additional functionality: 2 different sets of profiles for vibrate-alert-patterns can be set up, one will be used when the handset's keys and display are locked, the other when unlocked. See "Configuration" for more. Installation ------------ Install the supplied .SIS on your mobile phone. Afterwards, start Vibor's config-application from the Launcher. While Vibor is in its trial-period, a registration screens pops up automatically. Enter your valid registration code or click "Cancel" to continue the trial, if not yet expired. Now set-up Vibor by choosing a vibrate pattern etc. You can exit the config application afterwards, Vibor is still active in the background! If a previous version of Vibor is already on the phone, disable Autostart, exit the Vibor config-application before installing, and restart the phone after install. Configuration ------------- Menu Vibor->Enabled: Switch Vibor's vibrate-alert on or off. Menu Vibor->Preferences: General: Autostart: If active, Vibor starts after switching on the phone. Alert mode toggle key: Select a key to toggle between system altert modes (Audio+Vibor, audio only, vibrate only or silent) Calls: Options for visual incoming call display. "Zoom" defines the textsize. Alarms: Choose how often an alarm sound will play, and the pause between each sound. This setting is globally for Agenda-, To-do- and Clock-Alarms. Vibrate-alert has the following options: -) Alert pattern: How to vibrate on calls. Select "" to disable vibrate. -) Repeat counter for the selected alert pattern -) Pause between each alert -) Vibrate, then ring: Selected vibrate alert pattern only, then ring (on calls only). All settings are stored together in a profile. Three profiles are available on the A925: -) Calls (for incoming voice- and video-calls) -) SMS/MMS (for incoming SMS, MMS, receipts and other messages) -) Emails (for incoming unread Emails only) -) Alarms (Agenda-, To-do- and Clock-Alarms) Select the desired profile from the menu and edit your settings. On the A1000, the first three profiles apply for "Handset unlocked". There are three additional profiles for "Handset locked". During an incoming call or message, only one profile is active, depending on the handset's keys/display locking state. Test the current settings with the buttons on the bottom. Alert mode toggle key --------------------- Select a hardware key (or to disable this feature) in the preferences dialog to toggle the system alert mode. By pressing the key once, the current setting will be displayed. Press the same key again within 2 seconds to switch to the next alert mode. Press and hold the key for 2 seconds to switch to the config screen. When is Vibor enabled? ---------------------- Vibrate-On-Ring (vibrate and audio alert on incoming calls at the same time) is enabled if: -) Autostart is enabled or the config-application has been started after a phone power-on -) and Vibor is enabled (from the menu) -) and an alert pattern is selected (except "") -) and the mobile is in "Audio" Alert Mode (not "Vibrate" or "Silent") Prefix numbers list ------------------- If a caller's number cannot be found in the phonebook, the number is used to find the corresponding prefix in a list. Vibor comes with a small list of international country codes. The list is stored as simple textfile, which can be edited: c:\documents\media files\other\Vibor_Prefix.txt You can also move it to external memory (internal is always checked first): d:\media files\other\Vibor_Prefix.txt For example, if you get a call from +43800600600, then Vibor finds this entry: 43 Austria and displays "Austria". More examples: +4315553987 displays "Wien AT" +15559873 displays "USA, Canada, Caribbean Nations, Jamaica, Virgin Islands" Additional packages with more prefixes are going to be released, if possible. See http://www.nop.at/vibor/ for more downloads. A full list of Austrian local area codes is already available! This feature uses more resources, because the list has to be kept in memory. So, if you don't like it, simply uninstall the package "Vibor Country Codes" from Launcher -> Uninstall, or delete the prefix file. Uninstallation -------------- Uninstall Vibor like any other Symbian application: Launcher -> Uninstall License ------- This is a 14 days trial version. Please test Vibor before registering!
